Gene Barrio is a bass player extraordinaire whose creative skills make him one of the most versatile bassists in North Carolina. He is particularly adept on the upright bass, but his facility on electric upright, fretless and standard electric distinguish him as a powerhouse in any setting from fusion to rock to straight ahead jazz. With a degree in music, Gene brings a great deal of expertise and comprehension when it comes to the arrangements and harmonies comprising the range of material he covers when working with Winslow Stillman. Hailing from Southern California, Gene has played with top 40 acts such as Vikki Carr, Little Anthony, The Drifters, Dionne Warwick, and The Mermaids. He was also a house player at Harrah's Tahoe and MGM Grand Reno. He has been heard all over the world on countless Musak sessions.
Winslow Stillman has over 40 years experience in the music business. He is an award-winning music and broadcast producer, having created highly successful syndicated radio shows, including NASCAR Country, and Thunder Road, and the internationally syndicated program, The Road. Two of his shows were nominated as Billboard Syndicated Program of the Year. He has also won awards in Nashville for his jingle productions. As a producer in Nashville, Winslow worked in the studio with artists such as Dobie Gray, Kathy Mattea, Pam Tillis, Bela Flek, Burl Ives, and Jimmy Hall, among others An accomplished songwriter and guitarist in several genres, he performs regularly around the region with Gene Barrio, The Moonlighters Orchestra, City Lights Jazz, among other groups, and has appeared on national TV as a vocalist with the Bo Thorpe Orchestra.
