LL Urban Farms is a hydroponic farm and farm stand. We have now proven that you can produce Bibb lettuce year round in North Carolina. Hydroponic production practices and a greenhouse made this possible. Our fish from the Surf City Crab Seafood market. We go down to the docks and pick up the current bounty from the NC coast so you can get fresh seafood.
Not only are we making our dough fresh every day, we are dealing with local farmers bringing you the freshest in fruits, veggies, and hormone free meats all grown and raised in NC. The agriculture here in NC is the main reason Patrick and Jane decided to move here to open their unique locally owned and operated bistro. With offerings like deep fried locally grown zucchini flowers stuffed with ricotta cheese infused with locally grown mint and lemon zest, or our Peach and Prosciutto pizza made with locally grown peaches you will never get tired of the unique offerings and seasonal specials that Chef Patrick is putting together for you.
Hearing nothing but great things from just about anyone we met, we decided to reach out to Goat Lady Dairy and after sampling their product range we are very excited to add these cheeses to our menu. In 1995 founders Ginnie Tate her brother Steve & his wife Lee opened this dairy in the hills of Randolph County. They offer a range of softened cheeses and aged cheeses that can be purchased at local farmers markets, stores and used in many restaurants throughout North Carolina. We will be using their goat cheese on many of our products such as our Sweet Bean pizza, Goat and Pecan salad, and a mouthwatering Serrano ham and fig salad that’s includes mixed greens, toasted almonds, red onion and deep fried goat cheese balls wrapped in Serrano ham with sherry vinaigrette, you will also find their products included in our tapas/small plate offerings.
In keeping with our core values to use where possible only local farms and support our community, we came across First Hand Foods. This company networks with many local farmers; offering only fresh pasture raised pork and beef. They follow where the meat originated and how it was raised insuring fair treatment and that the product is antibiotic, animal by-product, and hormone free. With over 25 farmers in their portfolio, FHF can ensure they offer their vendors only the finest quality ingredients.
